Atlanta Restaurants to Try in 2023

This year I’ve decided to do 23 new/hard things in 2023. If you’d like to read the full list of things I am going to try and accomplish you can read it here. One of the items on my list is to try 23 new restaurants in the Atlanta area. I am very set when I find a place I love to eat, so I want to push myself to try new places and cuisines. I will be adding any of these amazing places to my restaurant guides as I try them!

Here is a list of spots I am starting off with on my list: 

#1: Evergreen Butcher and Bar

  • Located in Kirkwood 
  • Delicious pastries and baked goods
  • Apparently sell drool worthy burgers Sunday’s at 1pm

#2:  Kimball House 

  • Located in Decatur
  • My sister and brother in law love it 
  • They just bought their full property recently!

#3: Wiley and Rum

  • Located in Reynoldstown
  • Recently opened this year
  • Caribbean food paired with delicious cocktails

#4:  Kitty Dare

  • Located in Inman Park 
  • A girl I went to middle school with her husband is one of the chefs
  • Mediterranean food 

#5: Lazy Betty 

  • Located in Inman park
  • High end spot
  • 6 or 8 course tasting menu 

#6: St. Cecilia

  • Located in Buckhead
  • A Ford-Fry restaurant 
  • Coastal european food eats

#7: Bastone

  • Located in West Midtown
  • Known for their delicious mozzarella 
  • Seems very trendy and decorated well

#8: Slutty Vegan

  • Located in Old Fourth Ward
  • Famous for their burgers
  • Late to the hype but I still want to try!

#9: Mix’D Up Burgers

  • Located in Grant Park
  • A friend ranked it as one of her best burger spots
  • Burgers and sides come separately 

#10: Lotta Frutta

  • Located in Old Fourth Ward
  • Street food but located in the city
  • Mixture of delicious fruits, sandwiches and smoothies

#11: Gaja Korean Bar

  • Located in East Atlanta Village
  • Simple asian menu 
  • Affordable and shareable

#12: Banshee

  • Located in East Atlanta Village
  • New American Food for a nice dinner
  • Seasonality based menu 

#13: Tiny Lou’s

  • Located in Poncey Highlands
  • Inside The Clairmont Hotel
  • French American cuisine 

#14: The General Muir

  • Located in Emory Village
  • Serves breakfast, brunch and dinner
  • American food with a jewish deli twist 

#15: Lucian Books and Wine

  • Located in Buckhead Village
  • Voted NYT best restaurant in 2022
  • Bougie classic American dishes

#16: The Betty

  • Located in Buckhead
  • Mid Century Modern decor
  • Stunning american classics with cocktail

#17: Bacchanalia

  • Located in West Midtown
  • Four course pre fixe menu for $110
  • One of the nicest spots in Atlanta for a celebration

#18: Lyla Lila

  • Located in Midtown
  • Evolving menu with the seasons
  • Super nice dinner to pair with Fox tickets

#19: La Semilla

  • Located in Reynoldstown
  • Opening this weekend!
  • Plant based latin kitchen 

#20: The Select

  • Located in Sandy Springs
  • Offers brunch and dinner
  • French inspired menu 

#21: Canoe

  • Located in Smyrna
  • Atlanta classic located on the Chattahoochee
  • Seasonal American menu

#22: The Cape

  • Located in Alpharetta
  • Based in South African cuisine
  • Seafood filled menu 

#23: Fishmonger

  • Located in the Highlands & Kirkwood
  • Seafood based menu
  • Highlands location has fresh fish you can take home as well

#24: A Mano

  • Located in Old Fourth Ward
  • Traditional Italian dishes
  • Open for lunch and dinner 

#25: Bomb Biscuit

  • Located in Inman Park 
  • Serves biscuits as well as sweet breakfast treats
  • Only open Thurs-Sun

#26: Nobu

  • Located in Buckhead
  • World renowned sushi
  • Reservations I believe open 30 days before

#27: Southern Belle

  • Located in the Highlands
  • 4 course menu for $88 (weekdays) & $107 (weekends)
  • Menu changes based on seasons

#28: Tio Lucho’s

  • Located in the Highlands
  • Peruvian food
  • Open for brunch, lunch and dinner

#29: GiGi’s Italian Kitchen

  • Located in Candler Park
  • Intimate spot with Italian classics
  • Open Friday-Tuesday

#30: Cuddlefish

  • Located in Decatur
  • Sushi tastings menus with 4-12 courses
  • $32 -$99 price range 

#31: One Flew South

  • Located on the Beltline near Krog Tunnel & The Airport (F Gate)
  • Asian Fusion with sushi
  • Open Wed-Sun

#32: Campagnolo 

  • Located in Midtown
  • Italian rustic menu
  • Open 7 days a week 

#33: Aziza

  • Located in West Midtown
  • Advertises as “modern Israeli cuisine”
  • Small and seasonal menu

#34: Atlas

  • Located in Buckhead inside the St. Regis hotel
  • No prices on the website which indicates a hefty price tag
  • $250 tasting menu

#35: Local 3

  • Located in Buckhead off Northside Drive
  • $15-$30 entrees with a large variety
  • Happy Hour specials Monday – Friday 4-6pm

#36: Roshambo

  • Located in Buckhead/Peachtree Hills
  • Each day of the week has different a specialty dinner plate
  • Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner but small menu for all

#37: Desta Ethiopian Kitchen

  • Three locations: Westside, Emory Point and Chamblee
  • They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Co-owners originally from Ethiopian and met in Atlanta

#38: Ticondoraga Club

  • Located in Inman Park
  • Inside of Krog Street Market but has their own sit down area + bar
  • Recently re-opened with their colonial era food with a mix of seafood and cocktails

#39: Atrium

  • Located inside Ponce City Market
  • Offers weekday lunch, weekend brunch and dinner
  • Beautifully decorated spot with a European inspired menu

#40: The Deer and The Dove

  • Located in Decatur
  • Their chef was recently names a James Beard Award winner
  • Features rustic new American dishes for dinner but also has a bagels and supplies for breakfast & lunch

#41: No 246 

  • Located in Decatur
  • Locally sourced Italian food
  • Offers a chefs tasting menu for $100 for 4 courses

  • Located on the Beltline above Lady Bird
  • National Park themed
  • Cocktail bar open Tues-Sun

#4: The James Room 

  • Located on the Beltline near Krog Market
  • Cafe during the day, bar at night
  • Open Tues-Sun

#5: Vin ATL 

  • Located in Edgewood
  • Wine shop
  • Tastings that change weekly 

#6: Parlor Cocktail Bar

  • Located in downtown Atlanta in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood
  • Offers signature cocktails and small bites
  • Also available for private parties
