Best Podcasts for a Road Trip

About a week ago I got back from my 5 day road trip to Texas. On the way there I split up the drive to Texas in two days but on the way back I drove from San Antonio to Atlanta 16 hours straight. Yes, I know I am a crazy lady. But what got me through sitting in the car for that long and alone was some amazing podcasts. Only in the last few years have I gotten into podcasts. It feels like I am watching an Instagram story without the video which I love. These podcasts allow me to learn new things that I didn’t know before or allow me to learn more about myself through them. Podcasts aren’t for everyone and that’s totally okay but these are the one’s that I have loved and recommend:

Up and Vanished:

A crime podcast attempting to solve the murder of a young women in Georgia. I listed to the whole 24 episodes in a row, yes it is that good.

Stuff You Should Know:

A super quick usually less than 30 minute podcast that informs you about interesting topics that you might not know the full story about. They started making these way back in 2008 so there are a TON of episodes but you can sort of pick and choose your interests.

Skimm’D From the Couch:

My favorite daily newspaper that keeps me informed in this busy world we have today now has a podcast for anyone who loves to feel inspired. They interview all these amazing women CEO’s and their stories.

S-Town:

Probably one of the weirdest podcasts I have listened to about a man in Alabama accusing a another man of murder but then it turns into so much more.

More Perfect:

As someone who lives in the United States, this podcast really informs you in some very important Supreme Court decisions over our history. Very informative but I love the research this group goes into to create the stories.

Radio Lab:

Another older podcast that started back in 2012, but it dives into some deep scientific discussions about things you wouldn’t normally think about. I am secretly a math and science nerd at heart so this podcast really spoke to me.

Limetown:

One of the coolest podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Don’t research anything about it before you listen or it will ruin it. Just know it will get you hooked once you start.

Girls Night:

A podcast my friend Emily recommended that every 20-30 something year old girl needs to listen to. Four of the first five episodes related exactly to what I needed to hear in my life right now and I can’t wait to listen to more of them.

Atlanta Monster:

Another great crime podcast about mass murders int he Atlanta in the late 70s and early 80s. This is a huge part of Atlant’s history and I didn’t even know it happened until this podcast came out. Very intriguing and a must listen if you live here.

Among the Lilies:

For all my Catholic ladies out there this is a fantastic listen. Every time I feel like I need a pick me up with the lord in my life, this podcast does exactly that for me. From friendships to your faith, to your relationships to just being a women this podcast hits all the points.

Armchair Expert:

My new favorite podcast that is hosted by Dax Shepard. He interviews all his close friends from the TV and movie industry like his wife Kristen Bell to Ashton Kutcher to Laruen Graham and just chats with them about their lives and their connections. I’ve learned so many things about people I’ve watched on TV for years.

If you start listening to any of these and love them let me know! Also if there are any podcasts that you recommend for me to listed to comment below!
