Rehoboth Beach-Best Beach You’ve Never Heard Of

Rehoboth Beach, where the heck is that!? Unless you are from Delaware or the north-east you are feeling pretty puzzled right now. Fun Fact: it is in Delaware about an hour north of Ocean City but is perfectly situation for anyone who wants a relaxing beach trip with a low key atmosphere.

Looking for a great place to stay at Rehoboth Beach?

I’ve used booking.com every time and they have the best reviews!

The Boardwalk and The Beach

It is most famously known for it’s authentic board walk that is something you would see like in the movies and it is perfect for daily strolls and walks. It is a simple walk to the beach and the beach is completely open to the public. Busy season for them is mainly July and August due to northern schools summer break, but I’ve gone at the beginning of June and the crowds are less and it’s equally as fun! The beach and the area are super clean and put together for not only couples but families and friends as well! Just look at these beautiful views!

Things to Do

  1. Biking

Other than enjoying the beautiful wether tanning and normal “beachy” things one of my most favorite things to do is biking in Rehoboth! Every time we have rented from Bob’s Bikes and it is a fantastic deal! It’s $7 per hour or $21 for the whole day! So now you have a bike where to bike to?

Cape Henlopen State Park- Gordon Pond Wildlife Area

This is a quick 3 mile bike ride from Bob’s Bikes and has great signage on the way to it! It is a public park that has trails that go around the pond and also has another fantastic boardwalk! When you pass the pond and continue into Cape Henlopen State Park, you end up discovered some fantastic United States history. There are United States Army observation towers from  World War II that you can actually go up! The trails were super easy to follow and everything was relatively flat, minus the hill to get to the observation tower, that one sucked.

They also have two towers right on the beach about a mile walk from the center of town. When the water if really now you can see inside the tower!

You can also bike towards the south side of the city as well where are the marvelous houses are! aka the places I will never afford. You can continue even more south to the beach town of Dewey as well which is smaller than Rehoboth but just a cute and quaint!

2. Funland

Ever want to feel like you are a little kid again with carnival games and prizes? Even in high school and out of college Rehoboth Beach can add that excitement to you at a place called Funland.  It has lots of rides like a viking swing, gravitron (you’re inside a thing that spins you around super fast and gravity pulls you up), bumper cars and a carousel! You can get tickets for each ride or game and yes you can easily spend A LOT of money but you can hit most rides and a few games for $15-25! But a thing to remember, it doesn’t open until May 13th and it’s only open on the weekends until the first weekend of June but then it is open all summer until a little past labor day!

3. Downtown Eating and Entertainment

Like any beach town the downtown area is always happening, but in Rehoboth it is very busy in the summer with lots of events but they are a little bit more low key than most beach towns. For example, they a lot of times have local bands come and play concerts in the summer in their beautiful gazebo. We saw an Eagles cover band and they were fantastic! Also there are lots of cute shops that are nice and fun to walk around in.
